Article on projects in Overhoeks

In the beginning of April, the Dutch digital architecture magazine Architectenweb has published an article about the two buildings designed by JSA for the neighborhood of Overhoeks, located on the north bank of the river IJ in Amsterdam.

Situated in a green campuslike setting, the appearance of both housing complexes is very different. The first building, with continuous verandas and a subtle vertical facade grid, refers to the cruise ships that dock closeby, on the south bank of the river. The second building is designed as a sculptural  mass with big cavities, providing lots of daylight to enter the apartments.
