JSA has teamed up with ZVA to design an exclusive housing project in scenic setting in Rotterdam. The area, part of Park 16Hoven, combines qualities of urban living with access to nature, typical of more rural environments.
The project consists of 18 large single family houses and two apartment buildings, containing 16 luxury apartments. JSA integrates urban architecture in green context by emphasizing the plasticity of facades and providing every house with generous outside spaces. The large balconies and the terraces, sloping towards the waterfront, are the key feature of the apartment block design. Whereas architectural elements of the low-rise buildings, such as bay windows, towers and chimneys, relate to a archetypical urban architecture, interpreted in a contemporary way.
