Revitalization Wagnerplein Tilburg
03.02.2012
In recent months, JSA, commissioned by Bouwfonds Eindhoven, has been working on a study for the revitalization of the Wagner Square in Tilburg North. The urban plan for this project is made by diederendirrix architects, with Bert Dirrix involved as a supervisor and architect in further planning. Bureau Lubbers was asked to design the public space and the adjacent park. JSA has done its part in collaboration with VrenkenHoen Architects.

Deployment of the study was to depict the planned transformation process, whereby the existing shopping mall, its direct surroundings and the existing park will be addressed. Besides the restructuring of the shopping mall, the program offers additional space for commercial facilities, a library, parking and approximately 150 new homes, both apartments and ground-stacked houses.

JSA has been working on the existing mall and its adjacent extensions; an apartment building with 52 units, that forms the transition between the mall and the new square, and a detached residential building with 20 apartments on a commercial plinth. The results of the study have been merged in an architectural quality plan, which was presented to the various parties involved at the end of 2011.
